“The Great Wave off Kanagawa” by Katsushika Hokusai
Katsushika Hokusai was a Japanese artist and an ukiyo-e(浮世絵*) painter of the Edo period. “The Great Wave off Kanagawa” is the first print of Hokusai's series, “Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji (富嶽三十六景) “ and one of the best known works of Japanese art, which have been admired by Western European artists such as Vincent van Gogh and Claude Debussy.
